Woodbury Farm Holiday Cottages

Stay on a farm

Our Cottages

Our self catering cottages are in a courtyard of converted barns with our farmhouse. The farmhouse was built in 1650 and is grade 2 listed. We have lived here for 10 years. We are surrounded by countryside, and have 23 acres of fields.

The setting is rustic, as we have retained all the old sheds, they are very useful storage for hay and machinery. We make hay in Summer, the time varies year to year, as we rely on the great British weather for at least five dry days, to cut, turn and bale the hay. The hay is stored for Winter and fed to our horses.

We also have seven chickens which live free range.

The story of our chickens 🐔

They are rescue chickens, from an ex-commercial farm.  The charity collects them from the farm once they are no longer commercially viable and rehomes them for a small donation.  They live here free range and mostly lay eggs, although sometimes it’s a little tricky finding their nests.  They can be quite secretive about where they’re laying. Anyone can keep chickens in their garden, the rehoming charity we use is Fresh start for hens.

You are welcome to meet the horses and feed our chickens, they are very friendly. We do ask you to drive slowly on the farm, everyone is free range including our cat Bella.

If you would like to bring your horse on holiday, please send us an enquiry, there are stables and grazing available, also some good hacking around the area, will be happy to accompany you on my horse Billy.
